Highlights:

• Sleep difficulties are frequently reported in children with autism.
• Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an intervention of interest.
• Existing evidence regarding the potential of rTMS to improve sleep difficulties in children with autism is limited.
• Further robust rTMS studies are warranted to translate its use into clinical practices.
